Daegu: Kirani James meet record 44.72 Wednesday, 16 May 2012 14:30 DAEGU (KOR): Kirani James opens the summer season with meet record 44.72 at 400 m at Colorful Daegu Meeting on May 16 (IAAF World Challenge), the stadium where he won the gold last year. Ethiopian and world indoor champion Mohamed Aman came in top shape winning in 1:43.51 at 800m. Second was Kosencha 1:44.74, third Danish Bube 1:45.27.  
Ohuruogu vs Sanya Richards-Ross in Ostrava Wednesday, 16 May 2012 14:04 OSTRAVA (CZE): New top name for 51st Ostrava Golden Spike meet (IAAF World Challenge, May 25) will be British 400 m olympic winner Christine Ohuruogu in race against 2009 World Champion Sanya Richards-Ross. In the field also solid European opposition with Czech European Indoor Champion 2011 Denisa Rosolova (50.84), Italian record holder Libania Grenot (50.30), former European sprint champion Muriel Hurtis of France who switched to the 400 m (51.41), another Briton Shana Cox (50.84) and Ukrainian Barcelona 6th placer Antonina Yefremova (50.69).
Culson 48.00 WL in Ponce Sunday, 13 May 2012 17:12 PONCE (PUR, May 12): The 6th Ponce Grand Prix debuted as first ever one day meet from Puerto-Rico as part of IAAF World Challenge. Full Paquito Montaner Stadium with 15 000 spectators celebrated win for home star Javier Culson in world leading 48.00 at the 400 m hurdles. He beat Jehue Gordon 48.89 and Bershawn Jackson 48.96 (lost unbeaten streak of 2012).
Gebrselassie and more names for HENGELO Saturday, 12 May 2012 20:54 HENGELO (NED): The jubilee 30th FBK Games of Hengelo (May 27, IAAF World Challenge) will have as one of the top races the men´s 10 000 m with Haile Gebrselassie billed as Ethiopian Olympic Trials at the distance. Also running Imane Merga, Sileshi Sihine and Gebre Gebremariam.  
Demus for fast hurdles in Ostrava Thursday, 10 May 2012 07:12 OSTRAVA (CZE): 2009 World champion at 400 m hurdles Lashina Demus will start the season in her event at the 51st Ostrava Golden Spike Meeting (IAAF World Challenge). It will be her second time at the Czech event, she won here back in 2006. Demus will face mainly local star and national record holder Zuzana Hejnova.

The "International Meeting de Rabat" is organised by the FRAM "The Royal Moroccan Athletics Federation" with the support of the IAAF, The CAA (African Athletics Confederation) and the Memorial Van Damme (Brussels).

The 4th edition of the "Meeting international Mohammed VI" announced in Moroccan media its main star. Former world record holder at 100 m Asafa Powell of Jamaica will compete for the first time in Africa. On June 5 he will run the 100 m and should improve the meet record easily (10.30 by Ronald Pognon in 2009). More top names are expected for this IAAF World Challenge meeting.

Le Complexe sportif Prince Moulay Abdellah, d'une superficie de 80 ha, est situé à la sortie de la ville de Rabat sur la route de Témara et l'autoroute de Casablanca.

Mis en service en 1983 à l'occasion des neuvièmes jeux méditerranéens, le Complexe sportif Prince Moulay Abdellah a abrité de nombreuses manifestations d'envergure internationale telles :

General information (Geography)

Rabat (Arabic الرباط, literally "Fortified Place"), population 627 000 hab. (2005 estimate), is the capital of the Kingdom of Morocco. It is also the capital of the Rabat-Salé-Zemmour-Zaer region. The city is located on the Atlantic Ocean at the mouth of the river Bou Regreg. Tourism and the presence of all foreign embassies in Morocco serve to make Rabat the second most important city in the country after the larger and more economically significant Casablanca.

Rabat features a Mediterranean climate. Located along the Atlantic Ocean, Rabat has a mild, temperate climate, shifting from cool in winter to warm days in the summer months. The nights are always cool (or colder in winter), with daytime temperatures generally always rising about +9/10 C° (+15/18 F°) every day. The winter highs typically reach only 17.5 °C (63.5 °F) in December-January.
