PROGRAM 2011

The Internationales Stadionfest (ISTAF) is an annual athletics meet at the
Olympiastadion in Berlin, Germany that is one of the IAAF World Challenge
meetings.

LIVE RESULTS 2011

The History of ISTAF

ISTAF Berlin is one of the most popular athletic festivals in the world, and one of the most steeped in tradition. Since the very first ISTAF in Berlin, spectators have been treated to personal best performances and numerous records. First organized by Berlin's three preeminent athletics associations, the BSC, SCC, and the swimming club Poseidon, the meeting received its current name, when, on March 23rd 1937, the Berliner Sport-Club (BSC), the Deutsche Sport-Club (DSC, later renamed into OSC), and the Sport-Club Charlottenburg (SCC) joined in staging the ISTAF to avoid conflicting meeting dates.

Due to a considerable reconstruction works at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, which is the traditional location for ISTAF, the event took place at Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahnsportpark in 2002 and 2003. In 2004 the great final of the Golden League series became a triumphal return to its original location, that is now equipped with an unique blue track.
